There are many ‘rescues’ to donate to to help animals. Why pick
HOMESTEAD VETERINARY CLINIC LAST CHANCE CLUB (HVCLCC)?
Today HVCLCC provides VET MEDICAL CARE and SURGERY at
“NO COST to ‘RESCUE’ COST” for agencies and private owners with dogs
in need. These cases are the “big ticket” surgeries that most rescues
cannot afford on a routine basis and the animals are euthanized.
With HVCLCC, rescues do not have to do fundraisers for hundreds
to thousands of dollars to get help for a dog.
So how does it work? First, Dr. Brooks had humble beginnings, has
worked hard and values even a penny. All professional time and care
is donated by Dr. Brooks and Dick Brooks, the entire “staff” of LAST
CHANCE CLUB. Donations from HVCLCC supporters cover medications,
supplies, utilities, insurance, licenses – real costs – without 100% plus
markups of commercial vet clinics. Homestead Vet Clinic is not
operating as a commercial vet clinic – it is UNIQUE – it’s a rescue clinic.
Anyone with a pet knows what current commercial vet costs are when
they seek vet care. For a rescue case, some vets choose to maintain
full pricing while others discount off commercial rates. Some discounts
are large, some small. Any level of donation can help a rescue animal.
HVCLCC, as a unique rescue clinic, donates all service and uses
actual costs without markups. That’s why most cases range below
HVCLCC donors know how and where their donation was used by
reviewing cases on the web site and receiving detailed case reports
and receipts. Donors can confirm that cases really exist by cross-
referencing with specified rescues helped. There is a small base
of long-time, loyal HVCLCC supporters who have helped for now
nine years. My heartfelt “thanks” to them for making my dream
of helping ‘one dog at a time’ a reality.
